More about Selegiline
From the forum:
Selegiline is in a group of medications called monoamine oxidase type B (MAO-B) inhibitors. Selegiline is sometimes referred to by its brand names Eldepryl or Zelapar. Selegiline may help people with Parkinson's disease by decreasing the dose of levodopa/carbidopa needed to control symptoms, stopping the effects of levodopa/carbidopa from wearing off between doses, and increasing the length of time that levodopa/carbidopa will continue to control symptoms.1 Members have discussed how these drugs work in the brain in conjunction with other PD medicines. Members have also discussed dealing with these medications in relation to preparing for surgery as well as using them alone early in the disease progression.
